A council member stated that the proposed parking zone around the new stadium of Everton Football Club will aid in controlling the “vast volume” of spectators that the facility is expected to draw.
The zone will be established by Liverpool City Council around the team’s new 52,888-seat stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock. The proposals will embrace the Ten Streets sector and extend into the city center, all within a 30-minute walking distance of the stadium.
Councillor Dan Barrington said the stadium, slated to open for the 2025/26 season, will be “transformational” but how supporters come and go “needs to be carefully managed”.
On October 8, the council’s cabinet will consider a number of suggestions that were the focus of a public survey.
The parking area for football matches is comparable to that which surrounds Goodison Park and the Anfield stadium of Liverpool Football Club.
These consist of the Great Homer Street area’s new resident parking spaces, taxi ranks, match day bus stops, parking limitations, and the hours that the area’s current parking zones are open.
According to the council, the new parking area’s main goals are to lessen traffic, enhance safety, enhance air quality, and shorten travel times to and from the stadium.
The new location, which is accessible via the city’s famed “Dock Road,” has already been chosen to host the UEFA European Championships in 2028. It can also accommodate significant non-football events.
