Sean Dyche addressed questions about The Friedkin Group’s proposed takeover of Everton and the future of Jarrad Branthwaite
In terms of keeping Jarrad Branthwaite and his personal transfer budget, Everton manager Sean Dyche acknowledges he’ll have to “wait and see” how The Friedkin Group’s approved takeover agreement with Farhad Moshiri may affect the club’s business in the January window. Dyche has replied to fresh rumors over Branthwaite’s future, which have connected Everton’s most important player to a very contentious transfer to Liverpool, the team’s neighbors.
He stated: “I believe I mentioned in the summer that any player at Everton Football Club can now compete on a global scale; the game has evolved beyond a single player.” Across Europe, the transfer situation has opened up for everyone, at least for those in Europe.
“It’s not a surprise that good players are linked with other clubs, that’s just the way it goes and the nature of it. I said in the summer he’d be staying here, he is, so that’s good.”
When asked if he was certain he would keep Branthwaite on into January, Dyche replied, “The club has a situation that it will still be looking upon.” We’ll just have to wait and see. Of course, if the new ownership does go through, it may alter things, financially speaking, in terms of where the club is at and where it wants to go. But, we don’t know that yet.
Another report said that Dan Friedkin, who was seen yesterday at St Andrews golfing with his son Ryan, would be preparing to provide the Blues a significant transfer fund in January; however, Dyche questioned the veracity of the report.
“It’s safe to say there weren’t many quotes in there,” he said. I make an effort to be factual, and I haven’t received any communication from the owners regarding transfer budgets.
Since there were no quotations, I would assume that the narrative was mythological, since there are many such tales. I try to focus on the facts till it becomes a reality, and as of right now, I am aware of none other.
Dyche said there had not yet been any communication with Everton’s possible new owners. “From my perspective, I’m always willing to speak with whoever needs speaking to,” he stated. No, I have not received any updates from their end of the story.
The 53-year-old provided updates on right-back duo Seamus Coleman and Nathan Patterson as Everton prepares to play Newcastle United on Saturday in their penultimate game before the most recent international break. Strikers Youssef Chermiti and deadline day loan acquisition Armando Broja are also long-term absentees.
Coleman is also a little bit longer than those two, according to Dyche. We would hope that he comes closer during this international time, not too much longer.
“Patto is now more sensible. He’s always training, but he needs a game plan after being away for over six months. It’s a bit of a longer-term issue, but he’s improving and working out frequently, so everything is going well so far.
