Eddie Howe, the manager of Newcastle United, is a popular option for the open England position.

The FA has not yet named Gareth Southgate’s replacement; Lee Carsley is the England manager in temporary capacity. He is going to coach two more Nations League games this month after winning his first two.

Although there are other choices, the former Everton midfielder seems to be the favorite at the moment.

Eddie Howe was immediately linked to the England position following Southgate’s resignation. Since then, a number of commentators have urged him to take over for the Three Lions and depart from Newcastle United.

Jamie Carragher has often backed Howe to take over as manager of England. Gary Neville suggests that Howe has done everything he can at St. James’ Park and that he should accept the England position elsewhere.

Fans of Newcastle United are clamoring for Howe to stay on Tyneside, and that is most definitely not the case.

Update on Eddie Howe and the England job

And a new report from Sky Sports increases the likelihood of Eddie Howe remaining in charge

Sky Sports reporter Rob Dorsett has provided an update on the England manager search, stating that targets such as Howe have still not been contacted by the FA about being Southgate’s replacement.

Dorsett added: “It’s been made pretty clear to me that there’s been no approach from the FA to Newcastle to ask for permission to speak to him [Howe

Newcastle United fans need Lee Carsley to enjoy another strong international break

Howe has not been contacted, and neither have Newcastle United. That is certainly a positive, although there is still every chance that they could be contacted.

However, the hope from Newcastle fans will be that the situation remains the same.

The likelihood of that happening could increase depending on what happens over the next couple of weeks.

then they have to wait a fortnight for their next Premier League fixture – a home game against Brighton on October 19th.

That is because there is another international break on the horizon, and it could be a significant one for Lee Carsley.

He impressed during his first two matches as England boss, and now he has another chance to strengthen his credentials to get the job permanently.

England are preparing for two more Nations League games, with the Three Lions set to face Greece and Finland. If Carsley gets two more wins then perhaps there will be even less chance of Howe getting a call from the FA.
