When Anthony Gordon was selected in England’s starting lineup for their UEFA Nations League match against Greece on Thursday night, he was met with a chorus of jeers.

Some Newcastle supporters, however, had different opinions. One shared: “Is anybody else hearing jeers when Gordon is on the ball? Maybe it’s a mix of Everton and Makems in the stands. Surely it cannot be the Greeks! If they are the two fan clubs, then it’s pathetic. Accompany him!”
Given that his previous team booed Gordon over the weekend, the Newcastle player may be accustomed to it at this point.
