After a challenging year, Newcastle United’s three-year takeover anniversary was passed with minimal celebration, as the team’s overall attitude is still a touch off.
A weird environment has been produced at Newcastle by a number of circumstances, including a very poor summer transfer window and an injury issue that directly hindered the team’s development on the pitch last season.
The club’s board has seen several changes since Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi left, Paul Mitchell took over and appeared to unsettle Eddie Howe, who was at the time strongly connected to the England position, and CEO Darren Eales is likely to leave soon. Numerous things have been happening.
After three years, there have been rumours that the PIF is considering buying Liverpool, which would only happen if they sell up Newcastle first. This has caused some people to wonder if they still have the same devotion to the team.
Club insiders are pushing a narrative of contentment
Thankfully, The Chronicle reports that the sounds emanating from the club are in line with the PIF, and they are reportedly very far away from pressing the panic button.
“The mood at the top is that the owners see Newcastle as “on track” to achieve what they set out at the beginning of their tenure.”

PIF’s commitment has remains as strong now as it was three years ago
The Chronicle was even informed by a club insider that while the PIF is still devoted to winning trophies for the team, they want to make sure they do it correctly and sustainably.
“A large image is present. The goal of getting the club back to the top level of competition was established three years ago, and it is still on track.
“Over the past three years, a lot has been accomplished both on and off the pitch. They are not interested in being a passing fad; instead, they desire long-term success. Three years ago, the leadership was speaking in precisely the same tone.
Naturally, knowing the identity of this insider and their level of authority would provide a little more credibility, but for the time being, that’s the best we have, so we’ll take it.
