Sean Dyche at Everton would be “concerned” about James Garner’s absence due to a back issue, according to Joe Thomas.

Following Dyche’s remarks at his pre-match news conference at Finch Farm on October 17, where manager said the medical team is still properly evaluating Garner’s back condition, the Liverpool Echo writer tweeted on X.

Tim Iroegbunam, who has been sidelined for weeks due to a foot ailment, will accompany midfielder Garner on the sidelines. The entire nature of Garner’s injury is not anticipated to be known for another week.

Tim Iroegbunam may miss weeks of work due to a foot ailment, according to Thomas.

“James Garner is dealing with a back issue that requires further evaluation, but the club is obviously concerned.”

Injury problems at Everton showing no signs of letting up

Due to Dyche’s inability to use a number of his best players, the Toffees have had a poor start to the season, which has been evident in their four straight losses in August and September.

Because of the forced absences of Nathan Patterson, Seamus Coleman, and Ashley Young, one player in particular, Garner, has been asked to fill up holes at many positions, including right-back.

Nevertheless, as injuries have affected every aspect of the Toffees’ defence, it is unclear who Dyche would turn to given that the adaptable 23-year-old is now probably going to have his own stint away from the club.

At Portman Road, Dyche will still not be taking any chances against a winless Ipswich Town squad that is behind them in the standings and will have to choose the best team available.

Dyche will be making it very evident to people in positions of authority that further help is required come January if players are forced into unaccustomed roles, like he has had to do with Garner, in order to get a certain outcome.
