For the Las Vegas Raiders and their owner, Mark Davis, it has been an extremely exciting week. Tom Brady was accepted as a minority stakeholder in addition to the team trading away top wide receiver Davante Adams.
There are mixed emotions around the Raiders right now as landing Brady is exciting but this season has been a disaster this far. Although Davis isn’t happy with how the season is going at the moment, he is optimistic that things will improve.
We’re not content at the moment. According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Davis stated, “We’re not performing like we’d like to,” during the owner’s meetings. However, the season is still early, so we’ll see what we can cobble together.
By elevating Antonio Pierce to the position of head coach full-time, Davis made a bold move. Despite having very little NFL coaching experience, he pleased Davis with his performance in the stand-in position. Even though Pierce has already alienated some supporters, Davis made it apparent that he supports the foundation the coach is creating.
“As a head coach, he is young. He will get head coaching training,” Davis remarked. “He’s got a lot of nice people around him. All he needs to do is get used to the work. Really, this is his first year.
Although Pierce and general manager Tom Telesco haven’t had the best start to the season, it seems like Davis will be forgiving of them.
According to Davis, “they have a vision, and they’re attacking it.” “It’s difficult to complete in a day.”
Although a coaching change in the midst of the season won’t occur here like it did last year, it will be intriguing to watch how patient Davis is in the event that the Raiders only win one or two more games.
Mark Davis Addresses Maxx Crosby Rumors
There has been talk that the Raiders would be sellers before the trade deadline since they don’t appear to be a playoff club this year and might be going in the wrong way. Maxx Crosby, a talented defensive end, has been linked to trades, but Davis refuted that theory.
Regarding a potential deal for Crosby, Davis stated, “It’s just not happening.”
Any trade rumours involving Crosby, according to Davis, are not originating from the Raiders building.
“Unfortunately, a lot of outside chatter is untrue today,” Davis remarked. It doesn’t originate from any place. It originates from nothing. My primary rule is to never respond to anything since doing so will keep you stuck in this dark hole.
Since Crosby is the team’s public face, the Raiders would need to make a sizable offer before they would even entertain transferring him.
Davis Talks Davante Adams Trade
Davis must see the trade of Adams to be a disappointing development. Despite being a prominent member of the club, he left the team before completing his third season.
Davis won’t dwell on the bad emotions for too long, though.
“That’s just a part of the football life,” Davis remarked. Players arrive and go. When something doesn’t work out, it doesn’t work out.
Davis has only had two winning seasons since he acquired the Raiders, so by this time he’s probably accustomed to losing.
