If anyone can question the saying that possession is nine-tenths of the law, it’s Nathan Cleary. Had he been fit, there’s little doubt he would have played in all three State of Origin games for NSW last season and been a top choice for Mal Meninga’s Kangaroos squad. Cleary, already a four-time premiership winner, is widely considered the top player in rugby league and is expected to break numerous records before his career ends.
However, Mitchell Moses currently holds the position of NSW and Australian halfback and is a strong player in his own right. While he may not have Cleary’s legacy potential, Moses has successfully led NSW to three consecutive victories, including the latter matches of this year’s Origin series, and performed well in his Kangaroos debut during a recent win over Tonga in the Pacific Championships.
