The Sydney Roosters have secured their second NRLW premiership, showcasing impressive skill and resilience. In front of over 40,000 fans at Accor Stadium, they triumphed over the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks in a thrilling Grand Final.

 

The Roosters faced challenges early in the season, losing co-captain Corban Baxter to an ACL injury and veteran Brydie Parker to a fractured forearm. After a narrow loss to the Newcastle Knights in their opener, they rebounded strongly, achieving significant victories against teams like the Broncos, Tigers, and Dragons. Their only other loss came in Round 5 against the Titans, but they bounced back to finish the regular season tied for second place with the Broncos.

 

In the Preliminary Final, the Roosters overcame the Knights with a convincing 25-16 win, securing their spot in the Grand Final. They dominated the first half against the Sharks, leading 24-0, but faced a fierce comeback in the second half, allowing the Sharks to close the gap to 26-24. Olivia Kernick, the NRLW Dally M Player of the Year, ultimately sealed the win with a late try.

 

Under the leadership of captain Isabelle Kelly and head coach John Strange, the Roosters displayed a strong defensive and attacking game throughout the season, earning them the NRLW crown once

again.
