Ben Jacobs claims that the Friedkin Group’s acquisition of Everton is still on course and that they currently have no control over the process.
The broadcaster and journalist wrote on his X account [26 October] to reassure Toffees supporters that there haven’t been any unforeseen problems thus far.
By December, Dan Friedkin wants to have reclaimed the majority interest from Farhad Moshiri.
Jacobs posted: “The Friedkin Group’s [TFG] approval of the Everton takeover is still on track.
“We hope to finish by the middle of December, but we haven’t set a precise timetable yet because TFG has no control over some aspects of the process. No problems as of now.
Everton anticipate full Dan Friedkin completion soon
After months and years of boardroom turmoil, Everton’s situation seems to be slowly but surely coming together.
In order to reach that mid-December goal, they are not yet out of the woods, and supporters will naturally continue to be concerned until the entire process is over.
It will be encouraging to see Leadenhall, who sued 777 Partners and A-Cap, seem happy to allow the Friedkin deal with Moshiri to be completed.
If everything goes according to plan, Friedkin, who is rumored to be amenable to bringing “local knowledge” on board in the form of Andy Bell and George Downing, should help Sean Dyche’s team become stronger and ensure their survival.
In order to turn the region into an Everton powerhouse, Friedkin already plans to purchase additional land near the stadium site. Premier League football at Bramley-Moore Dock is essential for the upcoming season [The Athletic, 25 October].
It will benefit everyone if this takeover is formally completed as soon as possible.
