The Sun claims that four Premier League teams—Fulham, Crystal Palace, Brentford, and Southampton—are interested in Newcastle United forward Callum Wilson ahead of the January transfer season.
Due to a preseason injury, the 32-year-old has not yet played for the Magpies in 2024–25; however, he is getting close to making a comeback, and other teams are keeping an eye on him.
Wilson, who has fallen behind Sweden international striker Alexander Isak in the hierarchy, is ready to quitting Newcastle.
The Toons star, who manager Eddie Howe has called “incredible,” has a contract that expires in the summer, and the club may be willing to cash in on him in January rather than letting him go for nothing at the conclusion of the season.
Due to his numerous injury problems over the years, he hasn’t played much for the first team, thus it could be wise to sell him.
Fulham has money to spend when the transfer window reopens, while Brentford is still searching for a replacement for Ivan Toney.
Wilson could prefer a team where he can play frequently, therefore a transfer to Southampton, which is having trouble, might be appealing to him.
The Newcastle star might be the difference in the Saints’ relegation fight, as they have lost nine Premier League games this season.
Wilson, who has scored 47 goals in 95 Premier League appearances for the Magpies, offers skill and experience that any side in the English top division can use. In January, further suitors may enter the competition for his services.
