Eddie Howe is planning to add to his Newcastle United coaching staff.
According to Mail Sport, Luke Dickson will leave his post as Lead Academy Analyst at Manchester United to become a Senior Analyst at St James’ Park. Dickson acknowledged on LinkedIn last month that he was prepared to pursue a new opportunity.
“After 5 unbelievable years at Manchester United, I have decided to leave the club to pursue a new opportunity,” Dickson tweeted.
“It has been an extraordinary period of time, filled with some of the best experiences of my life while working with elite level practitioners on a daily basis. There are too many people to name, but I cannot thank everyone enough.”
Ashworth, who joined from Brighton & Hove Albion just 20 months ago, was placed on gardening leave in February of this year after the Red Devils approached him.
It took five months for the two clubs to agree on a compensation settlement. During that time, Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe called the situation as “silly” and ludicrous.
Ratcliffe remarked, “A little stupid, personally. I won’t get dragged into it. What I find totally ludicrous is the idea that a man who is very competent at his work would sit in his garden for one and a half years.
