Former player and EFL pundit Sam Parkin has advised Queens Park Rangers to avoid rushing into a decision on head coach Marti Cifuentes’ future despite the club’s struggles in the new

Championship season. Parkin pointed to Brentford’s example with manager Thomas Frank, suggesting that long-term stability could benefit QPR as well.

With only one win from their first 12 games, QPR sits 23rd in the league, just above bottom-placed Portsmouth. This poor form is a significant setback for Cifuentes, who signed

a new long-term contract in late September following a remarkable turnaround last season, where he led the club from near-relegation to an 18th-place finish.

Although Cifuentes faces mounting pressure, many QPR supporters believe he’s been impacted by inadequate summer transfers. Parkin’s message to the club is clear:

stay patient, give Cifuentes time to adapt and turn things around, and perhaps QPR could find stability similar to Brentford’s rise under Frank.
