After another tumultuous start to the new season, Everton will be looking for greater things throughout the course of the following year.
Sean Dyche’s team is coming off a very disappointing loss to Southampton on the road going into their most recent match.
After the loss, Dyche has come under fire for his Saturday lineup selection, which excluded Jarrad Branthwaite from the starting lineup.
But as The Friedkin Group is closer to acquiring Everton, more positive times might be ahead.
Additionally, an Italian journalist has revealed when he anticipates the owner of AS Roma to finish their takeover of Merseyside.
The Friedkin Group set to complete Everton takeover
Italian journalist Daniele Fisichella stated on TalkSPORT that he believes Dan Friedkin would finish his Everton takeover by the end of the year.
“So yeah,” he added, “things are likely to change significantly in the near future.”
“Maybe even connecting with a new manager, but all of that indicates that the agreement should be finalised by the end of this year.”
However, as they seek to expand their club portfolio, Simon Jordan has questioned The Friedkin Group’s Everton takeover given their existing stake in Roma.
However, with The Friedkin Group aiming to sell part of its Roma shares, it appears that they are prepared to demonstrate their dedication to the Toffees.
Everton need to avoid handing The Friedkin Group mammoth task
The Toffees have a big couple of months ahead of them as The Friedkin Group is now being tipped with a possible acquisition in the early months of next year.
Everton’s start has been somewhat uneventful, with four straight losses sandwiched by a five-game winning streak.
However, Everton’s fragility has been exposed by the loss to Southampton, especially given the extremely difficult schedule they have left before the year ends.
