Tottenham Hotspur have already experienced their fair share of injury issues over the opening months of the 2024/25 campaign. It has not been the start to the season Tottenham fans had hoped for, with the Lilywhites slumping to 10th place

Spurs’ biggest problem has been inconsistency; according to Gary Neville, Daniel Levy is attempting to sell Tottenham. Several players are now sidelined due to injury as Ange Postecoglou’s team enters the most recent international break. And with one player suffering an injury on Thursday night, it appears that their list of injured players may continue to increase over the next several days.

Cristian Romero injury update

After suffering a toe injury against Manchester City, several Tottenham players have left Hotspur Way in recent days to play for their national teams, including defender Cristian Romero. Despite starting the game as a doubt, Romero may have made his problem worse while away with the national team, according to Argentine journalist Gaston Edul.

Argentina was concerned about Romero’s injury heading into the break, but the 26-year-old started the game on Thursday night before being pulled at halftime. He played with pain in his right foot and could miss Tuesday’s match.

Tottenham have serious issues in defence currently

Given that Micky van de Ven is also out due to injury, Tottenham could not be at a worse moment. Radu Dragusin, who has been criticized for his recent performances while wearing a Tottenham shirt, is now one of the starters.

TBR Football understands Tottenham have held talks over Jonathan Tah who is set to become a free agent in the summer. And this all comes amid speculation surrounding the Tottenham defender with Real Madrid showing an interest in Romero. However, Troy Deeney has said the £42m Romero isn’t a true leader which could well be proven wrong if Tottenham have to play without him in defence over the coming weeks.
