Real Madrid will face competition from Manchester United in the chase for Tottenham Hotspur’s Pedro Porro. That’s according to Wednesday’s edition of AS, who name Manchester United and Manchester City as Los Blancos’ competitors to sign the right-back. Tottenham took the Spain international on loan from Sporting in January 2023 and made his stay permanent later that year. During his time at the Portuguese club, he played under Rubén Amorim, who arrived at Manchester United earlier this week. Porro made 98 appearances for Sporting under the current Red Devils manager, managing 12 goals and 20 assists in the process.
The Tottenham player is reportedly “interested in being hired” by Manchester United. The 25-year-old’s group is “convinced” that the Old Trafford team will try to recruit him.
Amorim’s entrance at the club is the reason for this, and he might be crucial to a possible transaction. The manager and the player have a “excellent” relationship.
Porro’s contract expires in 2028, and Daniel Levy, the chairman of AS State Spurs, will not allow him to depart for less than €70 million.
Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui, who joined Manchester United in the summer, are the team’s two right-backs.
Porro flirted with a Real Madrid transfer recently, and these claims may have been encouraged by that, because a making a move for him looks very far from an obvious Manchester United priority.
