Sean Dyche won’t be able to count on Armando Broja again when Everton plays Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday.
In Ruben Amorim’s second game in the English top division, the Red Devils will want to make an impression against the Blues when the Toffees visit Old Trafford on December 1.
Dyche has been under pressure to turn things around at Goodison for some time now because Everton has struggled this season and is now in 15th place in the league rankings.
The Toffees’ lack of offensive threat has been one of the primary problems for the English manager, who has struggled to get the most out of the players at his disposal.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been Dyche’s go-to player, but the Englishman hasn’t been playing well this season.
With Chelsea loanee Broja out since the start of the season and Beto falling short of expectations, the former Burnley head coach is short on quality options for the number nine spot.
Armando Broja slowly making Everton comeback
The return of Broja to action, who will play for the Under-21s against Watford in the Premier League Cup on November 25, is some good news for the Goodison supporters.
The Merseyside team has revealed on their website [28 November] that the Albanian is anticipated to play more minutes in Everton’s young squad’s upcoming match against Nottingham Forest on November 29.
If the 23-year-old plays for the young Blues just a few days before the trip to Manchester, it’s difficult to see him making the senior team roster.
Only 10 goals have been scored by the Toffees in the league this season, and their 0-0 draw with Brentford on November 23 demonstrated their problems in the closing third as the Merseysiders failed to strike against 10 men in the second half.
Even if Broja hasn’t accomplished anything noteworthy at Everton yet, the supporters of Goodison are definitely hoping for a change in the starting lineup, and perhaps the Albanian will offer the attack quality the team sorely needs.
Unfortunately, against Manchester United, that is unlikely to happen.
