According to Alan Irwin, Sean Dyche is “very concerned” that Everton, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin in particular, are not scoring enough goals.

According to the journalist’s live broadcast on Sky Sports News from Finch Farm (November 29, 2:38 pm), Dyche is well aware that the Toffees cannot win games if they keep struggling in front of goal.

With just 10 goals this season, Dyche’s Blues are tied for second place in the Premier League, and Calvert-Lewin has only contributed two of those goals, the most recent of which was in mid-September.

Irwin responded, “I think he will be very concerned, albeit he didn’t show it when I spoke to him a while ago,” when asked how worried Dyche is about the lack of goals.

“He knows that goals win games, but it’s been three games without a goal.” The truth is that Dominic Calvert-Lewin hasn’t scored in eight Premier League appearances.

Sean Dyche and Everton need more out of Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Calvert-Lewin has started all 12 of the Toffees’ Premier League games this season, despite the fact that he hasn’t scored in his last eight outings. The Toffees are currently in a dangerous 15th place.

Beto’s goal in the 94th minute to give the Toffees a point against Fulham was the last goal Evertonians could celebrate, but the Guinea-Bissau striker has not yet been given a chance to play.

Despite Calvert-Lewin’s decreasing chances of making an impact, Dyche appears committed to starting his number nine, and Beto has made all eight of his Premier League appearances this season coming off the bench.

Dyche’s devotion to Calvert-Lewin may prove to be his downfall, as injured loanee Armando Broja is still a long way from returning to first-team contention and Beto’s lack of playing time is causing transfer rumours.

With wolves already at Dyche’s door and Calvert-Lewin’s goals drying up, his contractual situation has not advanced much, and his choice regarding the striker’s future is looking to be very important.
