According to Dan Plumley, it’s good that Everton and the Friedkin Group are making transfer decisions in January before the takeover is finalized. The Americans will let Beto go on loan next month, according to a recent Calciomercato story from November 16; Torino is the front-runner to sign him.

Football financial expert Plumley acknowledged that such actions indicate that the takeover at Goodison Park will soon be completed. “Other things are happening around the edges,” he told Goodison News in an exclusive interview. “It would appear that everything is moving toward that complete takeover and resolving these issues if the Friedkin Group approves additional moves out in January or participates in those kinds of decisions.”

The Friedkin Group make transfer call at Everton

“Yes, it is encouraging that they are participating in the choices they wish to make regarding the playing side of things in January and beyond.”

Beto didn’t do himself any favors when he was selected to start over Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the 4-0 loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford on December 1.

Leon Osman called him “dreadful” when he missed an early opportunity, which will hurt his prospects of remaining under the Friedkins.

It will be fascinating to observe if current team members need to be sold before the January transfer window, when two players, including Alan Myers, may be desired. With a settlement close, a lot will depend on the Friedkin Group.
