After watching Tottenham Hotspur’s Djed Spence comfort Ange Postecoglou after their 1-0 loss to Bournemouth, TalkSPORT commentator Jamie O’Hara was impressed.
Following his team’s unfortunate loss on Thursday night, the Spurs manager was jeered and heckled by a disgruntled away crowd at the Vitality Stadium. He then marched across the field to speak to the traveling supporters.
After a steward broke up a verbal altercation between Postecoglou and Tottenham fans, Spence was spotted comforting the Australian manager as he suffered his sixth Premier League loss of the year.
O’Hara stated that, considering that the Englishman did not even play in the match, he “really liked” Spence’s display of support for his manager:
Following the game, Postecoglou acknowledged that Tottenham supporters were “rightly disappointed” and disclosed that he had gotten “some direct feedback” during the contentious discussion.
Despite controlling 65.5% of the possession, Spurs were unable to come up with a response, as Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen headed home Marcus Tavernier’s corner in the first half to score the game’s lone goal on Thursday.
Ahead of their Sunday home matchup against Chelsea, Tottenham’s loss dropped them to 10th position in the Premier League standings, one spot below the Cherries.
Spence, who most recently made a brief appearance in their 2-0 victory against Manchester City last month, was not deployed as a substitute for the second consecutive game.
The 24-year-old full-back has only played 64 minutes in the Premier League and 45 minutes in the Carabao Cup this season due to a lack of opportunities.
Since joining Spurs from Middlesbrough in July 2022, Spence has made just 11 appearances as a substitute for the Lilywhites and has yet to start.
