Mikel Arteta’s annoyance was evident following Saturday’s match, as Everton managed to earn a very respectable point against Arsenal.
Any Premier League side finds it difficult to travel to Arsenal, and there wasn’t much hope among supporters before the match.
However, Everton showed determination and perseverance at the Emirates Stadium, with several players displaying exceptional defensive play.
Ashley Young maintained his excellent play against Arsenal, and Jarrad Branthwaite and James Tarkowski, the two center-backs, played well as well. Additionally, Arsenal supporters were impressed by Jordan Pickford’s outstanding play in goal.
Arteta criticized Everton’s strategy after the loss, but Sean Dyche had the ideal answer.
Sean Dyche responds perfectly to Mikel Arteta verdict after Arsenal 0-0 Everton
Following yesterday’s match, Arteta maintained that Arsenal deserved to win.
He had expressed his dissatisfaction with the game by saying: “Very disappointing not to win the game.” We had every right to win the match. We didn’t give up any shots.
“We controlled the play. when we created significant opportunities. Not a single piece. They didn’t run. We created great situations in the final 20 meters and did everything correctly, but we were unable to score a goal.
It’s possible that Everton didn’t present much of an offensive threat yesterday. However, that was entirely expected at the Emirates, and it will occur there many more times this season.
Dyche brought up a very valid point on his team’s performance on Saturday amid Arteta’s jab.
“As always, I’m really proud of the players, but today I think more so in the sense that it’s quite evident you’re highly unlikely to come down here – or a few others in the Premier League – and dominate the ball,” he stated (via an Everton official).
Dyche is spot on with post-Arsenal verdict
Arteta’s remark seemed very acrimonious, and it made sense that he would react that way considering Arsenal’s desire to catch up to Liverpool. But just because you have a lot more possessions and chances doesn’t mean you deserve to win a football game.
Knowing the score with Arsenal, Dyche’s answer is ideal.

This season, the vast majority of clubs will struggle when they visit the Emirates Stadium. It’s really hard to get at the Gunners, who control the ball. Particularly for groups who have had trouble scoring goals.
Playing with more freedom and expansion could be asking for disaster, and this unexpected point could mean a lot at the conclusion of the season. There is no shame in defending with your back to the ball and possibly trying to launch infrequent counterattacks.
