Swindon Town manager Ian Holloway has spoken out against negative fan comments during matches, emphasizing the importance of supporter encouragement.
Holloway’s comments came after a recent match, where he overheard a fan’s disparaging remarks about the team’s performance.
“As a manager, it’s hard enough trying to motivate the players without having to deal with negative comments from the stands,” Holloway said.
“I understand that fans want to see their team win, but supporters should be encouraging, not discouraging. We need positivity, not negativity.”
Holloway urged fans to get behind the team and support them, even during difficult moments.
“We’re all in this together,” he said. “Let’s work together to create a positive atmosphere that will help the team succeed.”
