Since 2008, Tottenham Hotspur has not taken home a trophy.
The Spurs haven’t won a trophy in almost 17 years, which is really bad. A Tottenham-sized team must be competing and taking home more trophies.
However, the fact that many of its players have left to win trophies elsewhere must be even more frustrating to the fans.
Over the past fifteen years, Luka Modric and Gareth Bale have been the most successful, however other players have also won awards.
Ange Postecoglou recently won a trophy with a player he sold last summer.
Tottenham star Cristian Romero reacts after Emerson Royal wins the Supercoppa Italiana
Emerson Royal played for Tottenham for three years.
In the summer of 2021, the Brazilian moved from Barcelona to Spurs. After playing brilliantly at Real Betis in Spain, he arrived with a lot of expectation, but his time in England wasn’t exactly as smooth as expected.
Emerson received harsh criticism during several of the 101 games he played for Tottenham in all competitions. The defense made a number of errors.
When it was revealed last summer that Harry could depart, Spurs supporters weren’t overly upset. Following protracted talks, he was traded to AC Milan.
Emerson now helped the Rossoneri win the Supercoppa Italiana on Monday night, less than five months after he joined the team.
In the final, AC Milan defeated their bitter rivals Inter, rallying from a 2-0 deficit to win 3-2 in stoppage time in the second half. Emerson played 87 minutes of the game.
The Brazilian shared a photo of himself holding the trophy on Instagram, and both current and former teammates showered him with love.
One of them, Cristian Romero, responded, “Of course yes, emeeeee!”
Check out how Richarlison, Davinson Sanchez and Rafael Leao reacted to his post:
What people have been saying about Emerson Royal at AC Milan
Emerson is a very good player when he is playing, but the Brazilian also makes some mistakes.
During his time in North London, he made many mistakes, which Tottenham supporters witnessed, and since joining Milan, he has made a few more.
There has been a lot of criticism as a result. According to Fabio Capello, he never would have signed Emerson to AC Milan. Simply put, he hasn’t impressed him.
Milan was also criticized by Italian football expert James Horncastle for signing Emerson. He referred to their expenditure on the Brazilian as the “largest donation in the Milan Foundation’s history.”
Even though Emerson has a championship, he hasn’t been playing up to par since leaving Tottenham.
