If Everton fires Sean Dyche, Alan Stubbs says they could appoint a temporary replacement manager.
If Dyche is not fired, the former Toffees defender is positive that the Merseyside-based team would struggle to meet their season’s main goal of avoiding relegation.
He then stated in a message to The Friedkin Group that it would be beneficial for everyone to hire a new manager on an 18-month contract.
On the A View From The Bullens podcast, Stubbs stated, “I think right now, obviously, it’s going to be very difficult for them to achieve the number one target if he [Dyche] is still in the job” (6 January).
Therefore, I believe there are a few different approaches you can use. You agree to a payout when you bring someone in for a little period of time.
“It will cost you [to replace Dyche] nonetheless if you offer someone 18 months and you agree to a payout inside that time frame.
To be honest, I believe it’s a chance for whoever enters to win quickly because I believe they may get a response from this squad.
They could easily escape the relegation zone, in my opinion, and they would emerge from it with some recognition and positive publicity.
“In the end, and above all, they have a chance at an incredible football team.”
Alan Stubbs moots short-term Sean Dyche replacement at Everton
Following the 1-0 loss to Bournemouth on Saturday, January 4, Dyche is putting more pressure on the team at Goodison Park.
Although the Friedkin Group has not previously expressed any worries about the former Burnley manager, they are allegedly considering replacing him right away.
Although he is being courted by West Ham United to replace Julen Lopetegui, Graham Potter is becoming a viable candidate to succeed Dyche [Alan Nixon].
Although David Moyes has also been suggested, Dan Friedkin and company are worried that bringing him back to Merseyside would be a move in the wrong direction.
Therefore, it is unclear how the new owners would respond to the situation, particularly if Dyche is fired right away.
On Thursday, January 9, the Toffees take on Peterborough in the FA Cup third round. The final nail in Dyche’s coffin would most likely be a bad performance in that match.
It is noteworthy that after 19 games, Everton is ranked 16th in the Premier League. Despite having a game in hand, they are only one point ahead of Ipswich Town, who are in 18th place.
According to reports, West Ham wants to sign Potter for the duration of the current campaign, and if they pay attention to Stubbs, the Friedkins-owned team might adopt a similar strategy.
