Paul Dummett was replaced after just five minutes of his Carlisle United debut due to a hamstring injury.
After a dismal start at the Cumbrians, the 33-year-old failed to make his debut last weekend. Dummett was scheduled to play against Bradford City, but was injured in a car accident, ruling him out of the 1-0 loss.
Carlisle manager Mike Williamson, a former Newcastle United defender, threw the defender in a week later against Fleetwood Town. He began in the back three but was replaced after pulling up and gripping his hamstring.
“It was about his hamstring, unfortunately,” Williamson said following the match. “I believe it was just one of those unneeded, terrible, and sorry situations in which he was devastated last week for not being involved.
“Unfortunately today, that is football. But, you know, he’s experienced in there. He was on the bench. He was talking to lads and getting us through. I think his experience will still hold a lot of weight for us.”
