AFC Wimbledon’s ownership group, The Dons Trust, remains confident that the club can secure a top-five finish in EFL League Two, strengthening their promotion hopes despite a recent 1-0 loss to Bromley.

As the not-for-profit, democratic organization that owns AFC Wimbledon, The Dons Trust has placed its full faith in manager Johnnie Jackson, who has been leading the club since his appointment on May 16, 2022. Jackson, a former player who retired in 2018, transitioned into coaching with Charlton Athletic, where he impressed as caretaker manager in 2021, winning nine of his 13 matches. He was later given the permanent role but left in May 2022 to take charge at AFC Wimbledon.

Since his arrival, Jackson has worked to rebuild the squad following relegation to League Two, and his leadership has played a key role in keeping The Dons in the promotion fight.

Currently sitting fifth in the table with 57 points from 33 matches, AFC Wimbledon remains in contention for a return to League One. While the recent loss to Bromley was a setback—caused by a defensive miscommunication that led to Corey Whitley’s goal—Jackson and the club’s leadership remain optimistic.

“We fully believe in this squad and their ability to push for promotion,” a spokesperson for The Dons Trust stated. “A top-five finish is well within reach, and we trust Johnnie Jackson and his players to achieve it.”

With just a few points separating the top teams, the final stretch of the season will be crucial. Backed by their passionate supporters and community-driven ownership, The Dons remain determined to finish the campaign strong and secure their place In league One.
