Tottenham Hotspur are set to hold negotiations about adding a marquee player this summer, with the Spurs transfer target also willing to demand a release from his club at the end of the season, perhaps benefiting Johan Lange and Daniel Levy.

Ange Postecoglou is under great pressure to come away from their Europa League second leg tie against AZ Alkmaar on Thursday with nothing but a win, considering that the competition is their last chance to salvage something positive from this disastrous season.
Tottenham are currently 13th in the Premier League and out of both domestic cups. Their next five Premier League fixtures include Fulham (away) on March 16th, Chelsea (away) on April 2nd, Southampton (home) on April 5th, Wolves (away) on April 12th, and Nottingham Forest (home) on April 12th.
“Chaotic game for sure,” remarked Postecoglou after Tottenham’s drew with Bournemouth.
“We contributed to the turmoil, which was somewhat self-inflicted, especially in the first half, when we were extremely careless with our passing, allowing the game to be played on Bournemouth’s terms with their transition football. So, yeah, hectic, but at 2-0 down, it would have been very easy for the boys to just let the game get away from them, especially given the environment, but credit to them, they found a way to get back into the game and we got something out of it.”
Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero both received a much-needed run out ahead of Spurs’ game against AZ tomorrow, after missing major chunks of the season due to injuries.
Their absences were felt deeply, prompting the club to make a last-ditch loan-to-buy agreement for Kevin Danso from RC Lens, who has gone on to shine.
Furthermore, Spurs launched a high-profile £70 million January approach for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, which was quickly rejected by the Eagles.

Even if their original winter bid was turned down, Postecoglou’s team has not given up hope of finally signing the England international.
According to CaughtOffside, Tottenham are intending to restart discussions with Guehi in the summer, and the centre-back is expected to demand a move away from Selhurst Park as he reaches the final year of his contract.
According to this source, the £75-80 million defender is also being pursued by Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Newcastle United, thus Spurs will have a difficult race to get Guehi as premier English rivals compete for his services.
Guehi, dubbed a “sensational talent” by Palace chairman Steve Parish, is also seeking a long-term deal until 2030 from interested clubs.
