Big news in the rugby world! Sale Sharks and England scrum-half Raffi Quirke has just signed a new two-year contract with his boyhood club, committing his future to Sale Sharks until at least 2026.
Quirke, who’s only 23, has already made a huge impact on the team, becoming the youngest Sale Sharks scrum-half in Premiership history when he made his debut against Harlequins at just 19 years old ¹ ³. He’s also earned international recognition, scoring his first England try in a win against South Africa at Twickenham in 2021.
So, what made Quirke decide to stay with Sale Sharks? He says it’s because he believes the team has what it takes to win big trophies, and he wants to do it with his mates and in front of his family . Plus, he loves the feeling of being part of a team that’s like a big family.
Sharks Director of Rugby Alex Sanderson is thrilled to have Quirke on board, calling him a “game-breaker” with the potential to become one of the world’s best in his position.
