Sale Sharks director of rugby Alex Sanderson believes Ben Curry’s outstanding performances for England in the Guinness Six Nations have revealed his excellence to the wider rugby world. Curry, who started against Ireland and Wales and came off the bench in the other three matches, has proven himself as a valuable asset to the England team.
Sanderson expressed his delight at Curry’s success, stating that the flanker has finally stepped out of the shadow of his twin brother Tom. Ben Curry’s impressive displays have put him in contention for a spot on the British and Irish Lions tour to Australia this summer.
With Tom Curry likely to be selected for the Lions tour, Ben’s chances were initially uncertain due to the abundance of back-row options available to England head coach Steve Borthwick. However, his standout performances in the Six Nations have made a strong case for his inclusion.
Sanderson also praised the impact of George Ford’s second-half cameo against Wales, suggesting that the fly-half could still force his way into the England team and potentially the Lions tour.
