Charlton Athletic’s Dan Kanu Suffers Injury Setback – Nathan Jones Provides Update

Charlton Athletic manager Nathan Jones has revealed that attacker Dan Kanu will require assessment after rolling his ankle in a recent Under-21’s match against AFC Bournemouth. The 20-year-old has made 18 appearances for the Addicks this season, scoring one goal and providing one assist.

Jones expressed his disappointment at the injury, stating, “He rolled his ankle. We have to assess that and see where we are. It’s unfortunate as he just needed some minutes to keep himself fresh and focused for the run-in.”

Kanu’s injury is a concern for Charlton Athletic, who are currently fourth in the League One table and pushing for promotion. The Addicks will face Peterborough United on Saturday, and Jones will be hoping that Kanu’s injury is not too severe.

The Charlton Athletic boss praised Kanu’s work-rate and potential, saying, “He is such a great kid. His work-rate and what he does – truly, truly wonderful. And he’s still learning because he is 20 years of age.”

Kanu’s future at Charlton Athletic looks bright, with his contract set to expire in 2027. The Addicks will be keen to keep hold of the talented youngster, who has already made a significant impact at the club.
