Charlton Athletic manager Nathan Jones expressed his disappointment after his side suffered a 3-0 defeat to Peterborough United. The loss halted Charlton’s push for the play-offs, but they remain fourth in the League One table.

Jones felt that his team lacked quality and gave up too many big chances. “We didn’t show enough quality, we were lashing at things and then they showed that quality in the final third and that’s why they won the game,” he said.

To make matters worse, Charlton striker Miles Leaburn was not part of the matchday squad due to a quad injury he picked up in training on Tuesday. Leaburn is set to see a specialist to determine the extent of the injury.

Jones did not provide any further details on Leaburn’s injury but confirmed that he will undergo a scan and then see a specialist. “Any injury that people pick up, we have a scan and then we see a specialist to see how we move forward with those things,” he said.

Leaburn has scored 10 goals in 32 appearances for Charlton this season, and his absence will be felt by the team. Charlton’s next match is against Huddersfield Town at The Valley on March 29.
