Hull FC Prop Liam Watts Denies ‘No Training’ Claim, Discusses Club Role

Liam Watts, the 34-year-old prop, has disputed claims that he wouldn’t have to train at Hull FC after signing a deal until the end of the season. Watts rejoined Hull FC after parting ways with Castleford Tigers. Castleford coach Danny McGuire suggested Watts wouldn’t have to train, but Watts denies this, stating he hasn’t missed a session.

Watts explained that he was initially looking at a part-time move to a Championship club but Hull FC’s offer allowed him to “get in a good place mentally” after a tough time off the field, including the loss of his mother. He emphasized that the deal wasn’t about the money but about finding a fresh start.

Watts aims to finish his Super League career on a high, focusing on mentoring young players and driving standards at Hull FC.
