Hull FC Suffers Injury Setback as Forward Sidelined for Two Months

Hull FC has been dealt a significant injury setback, with forward Jed Cartwright ruled out for approximately two months due to a hamstring tear. Head coach John Cartwright confirmed the news, stating that while no surgery is required, the injury will keep the back-rower sidelined for an extended period.

Cartwright, who has been one of Hull’s standout performers this season, sustained the injury during a match against Wakefield Trinity earlier this month. Scans revealed a serious tear, forcing him into a lengthy rehabilitation process.

“Jed’s injury is purely rehab-based,” said Cartwright. “It’s a bad tear, so he’ll be in recovery for a while. Unfortunately, when he picks up injuries, they tend to be significant. But he’s determined to return as quickly as possible.”

The absence of Cartwright is a blow to Hull FC, with the coach praising his aggression, offloading ability, and defensive strength. Brad Fash is expected to step into the back-row role for the upcoming derby against Hull KR, with Jordan Lane alongside him. Meanwhile, Ollie Holmes, who recently underwent minor knee surgery, remains in recovery, with no clear timeline for his return.

On a positive note, Amir Bourouh and Sam Eseh have avoided serious injuries and participated in full training after minor knocks against Castleford Tigers. Additionally, Yusuf Aydin is expected to return this week, while Zak Hardaker’s availability will be assessed closer to game day.

Hull FC will be hoping for a speedy recovery for their sidelined players as they navigate upcoming Super League challenges.
