Breaking News: Dragons RFC to Give Netflix the Green Light for Explosive, All-Access Documentary Release Date Confirmed

In a bold and unprecedented move, Dragons RFC have officially announced that they will be the latest rugby side to partner with streaming giant Netflix for a behind-the-scenes documentary that promises to pull no punches. The all-access series, titled “Breathing Fire: Inside Dragons RFC”, is set for release on October 3, 2025, and fans around the world are already bracing themselves for what insiders are calling “the most raw and revealing rugby docuseries to date.”

The Welsh side, known for its proud history and fiercely passionate fanbase, has granted Netflix and its crew full access to players, coaching staff, boardroom discussions, and even the team’s locker room during pivotal moments of the upcoming season. Cameras have been rolling since early March, capturing not just the blood and sweat of matchday, but also the emotional rollercoaster that comes with competing at the highest level of the sport.

Speaking at the press conference held earlier today at Rodney Parade, Dragons RFC CEO Rhys Blumberg expressed his excitement about the collaboration:

“This is more than just a documentary. This is a chance to show the heart of Dragons rugby  the grit, the grind, the spirit, and the incredible stories that often go untold. We are opening our doors because we believe in transparency, in connection, and in showing the world what makes this club special.”

Blumberg, who was appointed in May 2024, took over the role ahead of the 2024/25 season after previously serving as Chief Operating Officer at Cardiff Rugby. His leadership has already been praised for injecting new energy into the club’s culture and commercial direction.

Netflix’s production team, led by the Emmy-winning executive producer Sarah Corwin known for her work on Formula 1: Drive to Survive and Break Point  has reportedly been blown away by the emotional intensity and authenticity of the Dragons squad.

“There’s a pulse here that you can’t script,” Corwin said. “From the young guns trying to break into the starting XV to the veterans carrying the weight of past seasons on their shoulders, every frame has a story. Dragons RFC has given us something extraordinary.”

The series will span eight one-hour episodes, covering everything from pre-season training camps and derby-day clashes to personal player moments, internal leadership struggles, and off-field challenges. There will also be a special tribute episode to the club’s loyal supporters, whose unwavering presence continues to be the heartbeat of the franchise.

Dragons fans and rugby lovers globally are being urged to mark their calendars, with Netflix already teasing a high-octane trailer set to drop in early August.

With “Breathing Fire”, Dragons RFC isn’t just telling their story. They’re making a statement. This is rugby like you’ve never seen it before.
