Netflix Confirms Release Date for Kings Lynn Town FC’s First-Ever Documentary

King’s Lynn, Norfolk – May 3, 2025 — The countdown is officially on. Netflix has announced that its brand-new documentary series, “Linnets: Rise of a Town”, which follows the incredible journey of Kings Lynn Town FC, will premiere globally on Friday, September 12, 2025.

This will be the club’s first appearance in a major documentary—and the excitement is already building across West Norfolk and beyond. The series promises an honest, behind-the-scenes look at life at The Walks, telling the story of a football club built on heart, hard work, and community spirit.

Fans can expect six episodes, each packed with powerful moments from matchday tension and training ground drama, to deeply personal interviews with players, staff, and supporters. Netflix released a short teaser trailer earlier today, which includes sweeping shots of the stadium, emotional scenes from the terraces, and a narrator declaring: “This isn’t just football. This is Kings Lynn.”

Club chairman Stephen Cleeve spoke proudly about the release date news:

“September 12 will be a special day for everyone connected to this club. This documentary is a tribute to the people of Kings Lynn, our fans, and the story we’re still writing together. It’s been a surreal experience, but one we’re all incredibly proud of.”

Produced by the team behind other popular Netflix sports series like Sunderland ’Til I Die and Drive to Survive, “Linnets: Rise of a Town” aims to show the raw, real side of non-league football where passion often matters more than prize money.

A Netflix spokesperson said:

“We were drawn to Kings Lynn because of the authenticity of the story. This club is about more than just results on a pitch it represents a community, and a dream that refuses to die. We’re thrilled to share it with the world.”

To mark the release, the club will host a special screening at The Walks on Thursday, September 11, with supporters invited to watch the first episode under the lights alongside players and staff.

Whether you’re a lifelong Linnets fan or just someone who loves a good underdog story, this is a series you won’t want to miss.
