It’s not often a club like Norwich City finds itself on the global stage, but that’s exactly where they’re heading. Netflix, the world’s leading streaming platform, has officially announced plans to produce a behind-the-scenes documentary series focusing on the Canaries  their first ever dedicated to the East Anglian club.

The series, set to follow the 2024–25 season, promises an in-depth look at the highs, lows, and everything in between that comes with chasing promotion, managing expectation, and staying true to the spirit of a club deeply rooted in its community.

For Norwich fans, this is a moment of pride  and perhaps, finally, a bit of overdue recognition. While big-name clubs with blockbuster budgets have dominated football documentaries in recent years, Netflix is taking a different approach. They’re shining the spotlight on a club that has built its identity on resilience, loyalty, and heart.

“We’re thrilled to bring Norwich City’s story to life,” said Sarah Lambert, Head of UK Unscripted Originals at Netflix. “What drew us in wasn’t just the football  it was the people. The supporters, the staff, the city  there’s a real warmth and authenticity here, and we want to capture that.”

Production has already begun, with camera crews embedded at Carrow Road and Colney training ground. From pre-season preparations to the final whistle of the last matchday, the series will offer unprecedented access to players, coaching staff, and the wider club ecosystem. Fans can expect everything from matchday build-ups and dressing room drama to family moments and the quieter struggles players often face away from the spotlight.

Club Sporting Director Stuart Webber described the project as “a unique chance to show the world what Norwich City is really about.”

“We’re proud of our history, our values, and our supporters,” Webber said. “This is a club that means something to people  and this series will show that better than words ever could.”

In addition to the footballing narrative, the series will highlight the wider impact of the club across the city of Norwich. Local fans, youth players, community initiatives, and even matchday volunteers will all have a chance to share their stories.

With the release date confirmed for November 14th, the buzz around the announcement is already palpable. Norwich City’s documentary could be the next big hit in football storytelling  not because of glitter or glory, but because of grit, heart, and a club that means everything to its people.

And now, the world gets to see it too.
