Kevin De Bruyne, a Manchester City legend, will play his final game against Fulham this weekend at Craven Cottage.

De Bruyne is undoubtedly City’s finest ever player, and while he hasn’t been at his peak this season, he could have one last trick up his sleeve this weekend.

De Bruyne is sure to be well received this weekend, especially by away fans, and in an interview with Manchester City’s YouTube channel, the midfielder discussed the respect he receives from rival fanbases.

The midfielder claims that he is respected by other fans, adding that he received an ovation from Everton fans this season, but admits that he felt it unusual to be clapped by opposing supporters.

Kevin De Bruyne found it strange to be clapped by Everton fans

De Bruyne discussed how Everton fans applauded him at Goodison Park earlier this season.

The City actor says he found this unusual, but he appreciates how other people regard him for his personality and talent.

“It’s very rare that a player commands respect from fans of all clubs, do you feel that in England that you are respected by the Premier League community?” De Bruyne was asked.

“Yeah, certainly. I suppose I had that at Everton; they were all clapping for me, which was strange because you don’t anticipate it. People may appreciate the way I play. I’m a no-nonsense player that gets straight to the point. People don’t always like what I say, but they appreciate it because I say what I believe,” De Bruyne remarked.

De Bruyne heads into his final ever Manchester City game this weekend against Fulham, and he’ll fancy his chances of going out with a bang here.

Indeed, while Gary Neville reckons Fulham could get something on Sunday, De Bruyne has an incredible record against the Whites over the years.

De Bruyne has six goal contributions in seven games against Fulham, as well as a 100% win rate.
