Mark Murphy, the CEO and president of the Green Bay Packers, is obviously very funny.
On Sunday, a fan of the Packers posted a handwritten note he claims his cousin received after he made a mock application to be the team’s defensive coordinator this offseason. Murphy wrote the note, playing along and stating that the applicant’s fantasy football experience wowed the staff. Murphy then made a joke about how the fan would be a great addition to the coaching staff of the rival Chicago Bears.
“Bill, We appreciate you sending us your resume and cover letter for the Defensive Coordinator vacancy. I regret to notify you that, despite your great fantasy football experience, we have decided to take a different course. The Bears reportedly have a vacancy, and you
The letter is available here.
It’s clear that Murphy enjoyed the fan’s application. Murphy chose to offer the fan an amazing memento instead of throwing it in the trash and thinking it was a waste of time like many executives would have.
This offseason, the Packers parted ways with former defensive coordinator Joe Barry. The person they hired to replace him then took a few by surprise, although their new DC is marginally more experienced than the fantasy football manager. However, you can’t fault a guy for trying, and Murphy had to appreciate the hustle.

Marshall did not appear serious, to be clear. Peyton’s circle, competitive as they are, was probably a little miffed at the outcome because the NFC had just won the game with a last-minute goal line stand.
Of course, many fans—some more seriously than others—also make jokes about the NFL being scripted. But it is difficult to believe that the league would ever consider treating the Pro Bowl that way. In addition, within the past few months, several additional conspiracy theories have come to an end.
Just hours before last week’s AFC Championship Game, wide receiver Kadarius Toney took to social media to criticize the Kansas City Chiefs in a video. However, Toney now claims he was set up.
During Kansas City’s 17-10 victory over the Baltimore Ravens, Toney did not play. It was his sixth game without playing for that reason. Toney’s hip issue and “personal” reason were stated by the Ravens as reasons for absence.
Shortly before kickoff, Toney went on a profane Instagram Live rant in which he claimed to be “not hurt” and labeled the injury designation “cap,” which is code for lying. Here is a link to view the video.
Toney may play against the San Diego Chargers in Super Bowl LVIII because he has been practicing.

49ers of San Francisco. The former first-round pick asserted in a fresh Instagram post on Sunday that those seeking to harm him had “altered” the video of him criticizing the Chiefs. He claimed that the entire film would provide more context, but because he has moved on, he will not be sharing it.
I didn’t appreciate how the manipulated clips in that film gave the impression that I was targeting the people I care about. I’m over that, but I would publish the entire clip where I addressed the person I was speaking to. I really detest the picture it gave. Smh… they’ll do anything to gain influence, Toney wrote.
It was clear from the video that Toney was discussing the Chiefs. It appears likely that Toney was benched due to subpar performance, but the organization intentionally gave him an injury classification in an attempt to help him.
Toney’s last game was in Week 15, when the Chiefs defeated the New England Patriots. He dropped the ball brutally in
