At offensive coordinator, the New Orleans Saints are upgrading.

It could grow harder for the Atlanta Falcons to win in 2024 as the 2023 season draws to a close. The offensive coordinator position is being upgraded by the New Orleans Saints.

Raheem Morris was a good choice for head coach, and the Atlanta Falcons were lucky to have him in order to restructure the team and move the organization in the correct path. If a standout quarterback happens to visit the facility, Morris may have the most influence on Atlanta’s near-term success.

They aren’t the only club improving this offseason, though. Dave Canales, the offensive coordinator for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, was hired by the Carolina Panthers to be their head coach. The New Orleans Saints are also anticipated to hone their offensive personnel.

When the Super Bowl scoreboard reaches quadruple zeroes, the Saints are anticipated to appoint San Francisco 49ers passing game coach Klint Kubiak as their offensive coordinator, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Naturally, San Francisco is participating in the Super Bowl on Sunday with the hopes of defeating the Kansas City Chiefs and awarding head coach Kyle Shanahan with the ring that has been missing from his history.

Perhaps the most powerful mind in football, Shanahan has sent his coaches across the league in search of coordinator and head coaching positions thanks to his inventive and dominant wide-zone system. The kind of success Shanahan usually brings with him is nothing new to Atlanta.

Next in line is Kubiak.

Pete Carmichael Jr., the offensive coordinator, was a holdover from the Sean Payton era and had been with the team for three years until New Orleans made the decision to replace him.

The rival Falcons will now look to Kubiak, who aspires to be a quarterback like his father. Before turning his position as offensive coordinator into a head coaching career that included a Super Bowl title in Super Bowl 50, Gary Kubiak was an assistant coach for the 49ers and won a Super Bowl with them.

With the NFL pedigree and expertise, Klint Kubiak can equal the excitement around the 49ers’ offense. In 2010, he started working as a coach at Texas A&M. In 2013, he was hired by the Minnesota Vikings for his first NFL position. He outlasted his father when he joined his father on the Denver Broncos staff in 2015, following a one-year stay with Kansas.
