Jett Lawrence Kicks Off SuperMotocross World Championship with an Impressive Victor

ett Lawrence had a triumphant comeback to racing as he won the overall title in the 2024 SuperMotocross World Championship Finals Playoff 1.

The defending SMX Champion proved he hasn’t lost speed or stamina with an exciting duel for the last moto win and overall triumph at zMAX Dragway at Charlotte Motor Speedway, following his absence for the majority of the Pro Motocross season.

Eli Tomac conquered the fast-paced, hybrid SuperMotocross course in the first 450SMX race. After a close battle with Jett Lawrence, he ended in second place after having led the majority of the second moto. The cumulative two-moto score determines the SuperMotocross event results, and Tomac placed second overall with (1-2) moto finishes. Chase Sexton, the most recent AMA Pro Motocross champion, competed in both 20-minute plus one lap races. Late in the last moto, Sexton lost ground to the two leaders and had to settle for third overall. After mid-pack starts in both races, Haiden Deegan produced two outstanding moto charges in the 250SMX class. Deegan won both 250SMX races convincingly to take first place in the 250SMX overall standings.

In the second moto, Levi Kitchen pushed out an early lead over the pack, but in the closing moments of the race, Deegan caught and passed him, forcing Kitchen to settle for second place.
