Sean Dyche acknowledged that it was his duty to make sure Everton outperformed the effort they put forth in the goalless draw with 10-man Brentford.

When the Bees, who had lost all of their games this season and had failed to keep a clean sheet, sent captain Christian Norgaard out for a first-half lunge on Jordan Pickford, the Blues squandered a great chance to secure a significant victory.

Despite dominating possession and having 27 attempts on goal, Everton was unable to get through Thomas Frank’s defence. Pickford’s saves from one-on-ones with Keane Lewis-Potter and Yoane Wissa actually gave Brentford the greatest chances of the match.

When the final whistle blew, the outcome was greeted with a few jeers. After the match, Dyche expressed his disappointment, admitting that his team did not deserve to win.

“They can direct it at whoever they want,” he stated in reference to the supporters’ response. They anticipate our victory. I think we’ll prevail. Making sure we perform better than we did today is both our and my job.
